Here's how it works: fat freezes at a higher temperature than the rest of the tissues. CoolSculpting will cool the chosen area down to specific temperature. It’ll be cold enough to freeze the fat, but not enough to harm the surrounding tissues. Once the fat cells crystallize, they break down. Eventually, the broken down fat cells are naturally processed and removed from the body. Once the body flushes the cells out, the fat cells can't come back.

CoolSculpting takes an hour or less to perform - depending on the treatment. On the day of your treatment, you'll be briefed on how you can prepare for the treatment. Then, 1-2 panels will be placed on the area of choice. After that, you can lie back, relax, and let the CoolSculpting device work.
There's no anesthetic necessary - most patients report feeling only mild tugging from the device and a cooling sensation. Once it's over, many of our patients are able to go back to their daily activities. Some patients even go back to work.
Because of its controlled-cooling technology, there's very little damage to the tissues. Patients will experience some swelling, redness, and soreness from the treatment. However, these side effects are only temporary and should dissipate after a week.
